EJ Hendley Consultants LLC was founded in 2005 by Elleanor Jean Hendley, an Emmy Award-winning former television network affiliate news education reporter, talk show producer/host, director of public affairs and certified public school teacher.

Hendley is also the founder and CEO of Teenshop, Inc., a nationally recognized development program established in 1985 for 'girls with goals'® who are not teen parents. More than two thousand girls have been enrolled in Teenshop's five chapters in Philadelphia and Los Angeles, and ALL graduates attend college or pursue other education goals.

Scope of Services

Program Development
  • Create, expand, or enhance youth and education programs.
    New: Created a week-long residential Summer Leadership Conference, held on the Bryn Mawr College campus, for rising seniors enrolled in Teenshop. Solicited career women to financially sponsor a teen, and be a mentor during her senior year as she prepares for college.
Instructional Media
  • Television production consultation, including on-air talent development, for school-based instructional media programs.
  • Training for school-based educators to effectively communicate with the media.
Public Speaking and Workshop Presentations
  • Topics of interest to educators, parents, and youth audiences.

Signature Program

Girls Achieve is a flexible curriculum-support series of life skills workshops for adolescent girls presented weekly for about eight months or in customized program models throughout the school year. The program is especially effective for students in grades 6th through 9th, which are the ages all young females are most in need of developmental support. Girls Achieve grew out of a series of motivational workshops that were created at the request of a Philadelphia district principal to help ensure a successful school year for her eighth grade girls.
